On April 24, 2007, Joseph T. Waldo, of Waldo & Lyle, P.C., will be introducing Professor James Ely, who will speak on “Magna Carta and the Evolution of Property Rights.”
The value of Professor Ely’s comprehensive scholarship is enhanced by his straightforward, accessible writing and speaking style. As the author of numerous books, his broad scholarship has contributed mightily to legal scholarship and practice in a variety of fields. His renowned “The Guardian of Every Other Right: A Constitutional History of Property Rights,” now in its third printing, is widely regarded as one of the most influential works in the realm of property rights scholarship. Professor Ely is also the co-editor of “The Bill of Rights in Modern America,” which is entering its second printing this year.
Professor Ely’s talk will provide an insight into the natural connection Americans have with rights to private property.
